Is the Nature of your starter decided randomly? Otherwise Starter Miko is always stuck with some Special Defence+ stuff which is her weakest stat, instead of something cool like Speed+ or Attack+.

My meta sense will force me to restart if the starter can actually have a good nature at random. Though there seems to be the case that some stats can be S rank on wild Touhous so maybe your starter will be overshadowed by some perfect breed later anyway.
