I'm more about, if you have 10 ships that you give priority to than some other one, that makes that "one" underrated.
You definitely like a ship you use for 1/100 sorties less than a ship you use 10/100 sorties, no matter the stats.
And i'm not saying you shouldn't like ships with good stats. For example, if you say you like Samidare, but constantly use Fubuki, because muh 20% stat difference (which is a lot), you favour Fubuki more than Samidare. But there would be no point in arguing if you straight out said you liked Fubuki in that case.
