How do we spice up The Jay?

The perfect /jp/sie, to me, is someone who has embarked upon the NEETfold path in earnest, removed themselves from the influence of the outside world, but at the same time not inconveniencing anyone, eking out a place in the world where the people around them understand why they feel the way they do. Standing firm and making the world change to suit themselves, instead of getting swept away by the waves of illusion.

I wish I had someone like that. But my friends all suck. It's just you and me, /jp/.

Why are so many /a/ and /jp/ (and most /v/) residents so socially retarded and awkward?

All the people I ever had the misfortune of meeting who take an interest to anime and jp related things fulfill the nasty weeaboo stereotype to such a degree that it makes me not want to have anything to do with it. They're near impossible to hold coherent conversations with, in one way or another.

I frequent /jp/ and somehow manage to be a normal and successful person in society, with a lot of people looking up to me as a leader in my community and in my workplace seeking my approval, rather than fleeing. I also speak like a normal person rather than with the mannerisms of a fat greasy neck-bearded WOW-obsessed sudo with a lisp. On top of it all I manage to stay fit and attractive, maintaining healthy relationships and keeping up with the times. And yet, I manage to find time and take sincere enjoyment in VNs, doujins, artbooks, figs, etc.

Why is this infamous quasi-autism so rampant?

Come on guys pull yourselves together, its pathetic. You're doing all the classy, studious and respectable /jp/ers a disservice by alienating anyone sane who shares the same interest. You're destroying the credibility of anyone with similar interests as you.

tl;dr why are people interested in this stuff almost always creepy and awkward as fuck?

I'm not from the USA so my story may differ:

In high school, I did poor in exams, especially in the final two years. I didn't get accepted into University so I went to a community college to try the exams again, then I could re-apply for University. I passed Community College but I fucking hated it (I felt like scum going to school with people who could barely speak English, had down syndrome, were all ugly and awkward). I have a fear of falling behind, I lost all the friends I had because they went to University and I was stuck in Community College.

Now I'm at a point where I can go to a University (albeit a shitty one) to study a course I don't particularly enjoy, or take another year off to try to get into a course I do enjoy OR go to see my father who works abroad as an ex-pat and convince him to get me a job on a boat so I can travel around.

It's just hard sometimes.
