Having given up on trying to conquer E-6 at this point, I tried some E-4 runs instead, praying that it was the right move as I did my last-mintue blitz and my resources and buckets gradually dwindled down.

It was. Now I can rest easy. No E-6 victory, but it was my first event anyways and I'll take what I learned (bring much more resources next time as I greatly underestimated what a resource hog Combined Fleets are, and keep trying for Reppuus) for the next event.
