I went to a con and figured I would check out the touhou panel just because I've never been around other touhou fans. It was pretty fucking terrible with weird ugly people dressed as touhous running around sexually harassing each other and talking about stupid touhou memes and doujin junk and not discussing the canon stuff. I figured they were all morons who only know about touhou from watching youtube and going on deviantart.

But then they actually hooked a laptop up to the projector and played PoFV, and most of them were actually very good at the game.

Touhou canon doesn't really leave people with much to be excited about, so I guess when you love a series so much you have to get into the fanon stuff, and if you are willing to love a series to the point of consuming even the non-canon, yet still understanding the games, that's OK by me.

If it wasn't for the fanon interpretations of the Yakumo family, I probably wouldn't like touhou nearly as much, or not at all.
