> I'm going to release the end of Aya's reservation all at once so I can furiously proof-read every part of it
I feel like it's a better idea to have consistent releases instead. Let's you write more and adjust based on feedback(your own reflection as well as replies).
People won't bicker too much about errors or sour writing, but those that do will be a better lesson then hours of proof-reading, since you'll actually remember that time you missed a comma and someone pointed it out or when some characterization only exists in your head, but not in the story.
Blah, blah, blah Kindergarteners beat MBAs at team exercises because they start building stuff sooner, blah blah, consistent throughput is better then a larger, brittle delivery, business analogy, Cult of Done, blah.

The second I had seen Goro and the HSE in that picture I had rocketed off, not thinking about much else, in retrospect, that’s probably how they tracked and caught me so easily.
It started with a furry of translucent pink fists rocketing in all directions around me, which took me by surprise, but I knew they were the product of that bald-headed Nyuudou: Unzan.
He wasn’t the problem. Anyone who’d fought with Ichirin, his spokeswoman, was well aware of the fact that he was too pansy to hit people directly. Meaning one of the other Buddhist Youkai or Ichirin herself were probably in the wings. I couldn’t afford to let that wimp pinkie direct me into their assault!
But in charging as quickly I could to get out of his range I slammed into some kind of wall and felt the familiar feeling of surface tension breaking. A river? Up so far in the sky?
Couldn’t get stuck in impossibilities now, so holding my breath, I charged headlong in to try to find an exit before the drag of the water let them catch up to me, then I heard the cheers.
Men, woman, all dressed in sailor’s garb emerged from the bleakness of the water and were all making a beeline for me, wielding spears, nets, and oars. None of them looked panicked to be in some floating sky river nor did they seem focused like they were on a hunt, all of them just looked freakishly enthused, as if on their way to a party.
Well at least they knew how to enjoy a fight!
I charged into the weakest looking part of the crowd and began throwing their bodies to propel myself forward and give the other maritime rabble something to catch that wasn’t fish. For a while I was making progress, inching along through the width of the river. They were a persistent bunch however and a few nets here, some dodged spears there, and they were closing around me in all six directions.
From the corner of my eye, I could a shadow over the daylight cast into the water. Someone was above the surface.
Well, I don’t think I could flip our positions from this far away, but it was better then being made a cabin wrench for a bunch of psychotic fishmen spirits!
I snap my fingers and suddenly find myself floating in the sky once more, a strange trail of water behind me, seemingly all the iconic Buddhists brigade surrounding me, including a few strange people with helmets seemingly made from baskets I didn’t recognize, and Hijiri, the chief witch in charge herself, staring down at me with smiling contempt.
Out of the frying pan into the inferno, eh?
With a snap of my fingers, I flip positions with one of the basket men and rocket away as fast as I could. Leaving the whole mob in my dust.
For some reason I was on fire. Normally I couldn’t pull off flipping locations like this and especially not in quick succession. What’s more, none of their attacks were touching me. I sailed left and right, dodging whatever bullets came my way well before they had a chance to make their mark. Were they all taking me lightly or was I just that good? It didn’t seem like they were pulling punches.
But it was not to last. As I flew, I felt some weird increase in resistance, like the wind was guiding me in a particular way. I leaned into it, trying to increase my speed, right into a net lined with charms and Ofuda.
The characteristic shock and needling feeling caused by those charms’ effects coursed through my body and in a desperate gamble, I snaped my fingers.
The shock stopped and everything went quiet.
“You idiots put an off switch on these things?” I laughed.
Then I felt a metal rod strike my head and back, a rope tied around my neck, and a smog blown over my face. I was out within seconds.
