bro, i usually help anyone that asks but in this case you are defeating the purpose of the exercise
you do NOT translate them like this, if you got 95% you already won, move on to the next or give it another go until it "clicks"
those things work in a socratic method sorta way, the exercise is arriving at the answer, not the answer itself, if you didnt get something its okay, you WILL see it again and eventually itll click

the whole point is that you HAVE to make your brain understand there is no way out of turning on and understanding the squiggles.

hope that makes sense/helps

>It’s so funny how the shitters suddenly start spamming as soon as it hit
- after school/uni for time zones in the USA, the source of the majority of traffic on this site, along with late evening traffic in Europe, the second source. Really only excluding kiwis and aussies as the third source.
SEA is an outlier since the most popular weeb discussion for communities will form just as likely around Chinese or the local/national language as English, but still possible. Japanese (and Korean) presence on 4chan is much rarer because they have direct analogs to 4chan which are more culturally in the loop anyway.
Regardless, some dweeb getting their kicks here has more in common with the stereotypes anyone else who willingly browses here than the stereotypes of their locality.

I reply because I'm geniunely interested in your deduction and you're not giving many clues. I don't know who exactly you're referring to, but the fixation on JST confuses me unless you either aren't aware about how other otaku in other countries tend to discuss things online or are intentionally ignoring it. Perhaps you're alluding to the times of streamers, but 8am is damned deep into dead hours for HoloJP and focusing on HoloEN would be Western time zones.

t. American hick who uses English sites primarily but picked up basic Chinese and Japanese over the years and can use those sites (5ch, PTT, Mainland BBS, etc) if there is a strong motivation to do so. Mostly assuming on languages Korean, Tagalog, Malay, etc. based on people I've met and worked with abroad.

>why the fuck would a Youtube-dl call be any different considering it was never different before.
After debugging youtube-dl once and making a working extractor once:
Youtube-dl doesn't actually "make a call" to Youtube via an API or something. It does a few API calls for some metadata, but it is actually doing most of its work by downloading and extracting actual Youtube webpages. This is because Youtube does not expose API calls that would facilitate ripping their site unless their is a monetary/ large contributor benefit to them to doing so, for completely obvious reasons.

As Youtube both does A/B testing (sending different users different revisions of the site code for testing/feedback) and frequently makes changes to the player code and other aspects of the site in a way which does not change the appearance of the site, it is quite possible for youtube-dl's inherently brittle daisy-chain of extractor functions to choke on a webpage change from Youtube that changed without warning. It's even quite possible for it suddenly start working again if the change is reverted or only appears on certain videos.

Don't just take my word on it:
https://github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-dl/blob/master/youtube_dl/extractor/youtube.py

You make it sound as if cheap arbitrary name-calling of perceived outsider communities is of enough value to warrant consistency or consensus.
It ain't.
