I think you take too many assumptions.
Do you really think the undead such as a bourei (like Yuyuko) are fertile?

We refer to Youmu as a half-ghost because she has two bodies, one resembles the average ghost. She even lacks some basic human nature as Miko finds Youmu is missing two desires.
The only aspect half-ghosts seem to share with humans is that they have a limited lifespan, and one of their bodies seems to be similar to a human's.
