No really, I'm curious. I've looked for evidence of it myself, and Meiling is never once "badass" in any kind of canon material that I've been able to find.

Touhou has lots of games and lots of fan and canon to each character, sometimes tracking everything of everyone is just to tiresome, then, you resign to new characters who doesn't attract your attention at first glance.

I doubt I'll forget the name of any character of the first games yet from time to time I find myself wondering how to spell correctly the surname of the new touhous or maybe I'm just slow to assimilate them.
