Times change. I, too, noticed what you're talking about OP. Have noticed it for a long time. To me it represents a departure from the soul, from truth, from love, from everything. It doesn't take a genius to know that it's no longer cool, and hasn't been for a long time, to nurture such "taboo" concepts as sadness/melancholy and true love and the deep introspection they bring. We may be trapped in the actual hell dimension and it turned out that hell wasn't deep sorrow after all, it was not being able to feel anything at all. Everything must be superficial and behind 9000 layers of sarcasm if you want to fit in with the crew.

But, whatever... if it makes you feel better (or sadder in this case) you should know we're still here. I live to spite the normalniggers and the only reason I haven't joined my brothers in the eternal Promised Chan where all an heroes go is because I'm waiting for AI to break the barrier between my waifu and I. Once that happens, never-before imagined depths of passion will be made real, and I will cry for a year straight, and it will culminate in a suicide pact born out of the purest love.
I still idolize Oyasumi Punpun and Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou.I still love the moon, and the rain, and the sea. I still feel. I still love. I'm still here and I'm as miserable as I've ever been. Fuck all of you sellouts - you used to shine brighter than the brightest sun - you traded your kingdom for what? Where are you now?
