Now, to both learn jap and see how the translations are handled I'll sometimes switch over from jap sub to the eng while watching anime to compare, and I find a whole lot of burgerfied/needlessly colloquial stuff yet also a lot that's too stiff and formal

for some reason a bit of お主 language is enough to disregard all of the colloquial language that hina uses, I really hated this sub

>The Duke of Death and His Maid -EMBER
needlessly colloquial language most of the time, using "guy" for hito. Inserted meme (the matrix reference), could have used an alternative that's not a direct reference to a specific something
Disliked this a lot

sometimes needlessly colloquial ("crappy"), at other times too stiff and disregarding emotion/tone in the original line

I liked the german translation for part 1, ger translation of part 2 just copies the english subs. English subs on average more colloqual than german
I think for part 1 I noticed clear discrepancies between english and ger, sometimes thinking the ger is right and sometimes finding the eng correct. I largely ignored the english dub-transcript except one time to compare between english dub and english sub and found another grave discrepancy:

at the end of the day though I really just want to be free of sjw localizers, that's basically it. I really hate burgerfied (turning "cute" into "hot") shit and some awkward errors are also unpleasant but they don't make me feel paranoid and like killing myself
