I am 100% sure his ~mysterious death~ has absolutely no relevance to future plot events whatsoever, and he will in fact never be brought up again.

Oh sure, but by theory I mean the ghost angle being there to set up something latter. There's not much "if" in this anymore, at least not to me.
And yes, I'm sure at this point there's a lot more hints at future events that I'd know if I actually played the damn game. I'm working with what I've got.

I guess, but the OVA at least didn't show no fancy command chair, and seemed to imply it was just planted where Olga was standing.
...which would sorta out this side argument a bit, but fuck it, see previous statements.

No, no, I'm saying her being revealed to be already dead is too big a twist for how much it mattered. Like, imagine a story where a character is revealed to be a robot, but then in that same scene he dies and is never relevant again. His robot status never matters at all. That'd be weird, right? Olga is/was a ghost, and that'll be important at some point.

Now how this will work out I have no idea, but fuck, it's solid enough hope to sit on. Waiting for something you're pretty sure is going to happen is SO much easier than waiting for a random miracle.
