I was watching some shitty movie the other day and I realized something, practically everyone used watashi or boku, the only person that used boku was the owner of a gay bar, some obnoxiously obviously gay dude saying "僕は" constantly as if to hammer home that he uses boku. I knew that people make jokes online about boku but I didn't realize it was that strong.
I pretty much always used boku, am I a laughing stock amongst the people I was conversing with now? Was I hoodwinked by shitty textbooks and whatnot? Is it over for me?
