We actually used that comic in one of my classes last semester.

We had to hook up one of our lab members to the ECG we built, and had them read the comic. His heart rate was 130 bpm before shit hit the fan, and 150 bpm afterward.

Here's his ECG. He got to the first surprise at about 135 seconds, and the second one at 159 seconds.
