I don't know if its from my biased perspective but I feel the whole " Take it easy " spirit has taken quite a hit, less so in the Art but in discussion. Either it feels disingeneous or it's not there at all. Perhaps it's just me yelling at clouds or being delusional over nothing.
I wouldn't say it's dead, far from it, but sometimes I feel alone in appreciating the whole of Touhou & how at ease it can put me. Reducing it to only that would be, well, reductive, but it's still important to me, as are the thrills I get from figuring out spells in the shmup, or ducking it out in the fightans, or generally appreciating fan works, discovering more through the books, perhaps adventuring on my own by writing shit.
I'm sure it's a more common sentiment than i'm making it out to be, but people rarely vocalize their appreciation for something, only the controversies, the rivalries, the opponents. It's not that these complaints are illegitimate, quite the contrary, as it can show care for Touhou in itself and the aforementioned difficulties i've mentioned aren't due to thin air, but still.
