I'm relatively new to the Atelier series, which one should I start with /jp/?

Cute games General.

By the way, what kind of disc support does the Vita use? Some new Sony support that will die at the speed of light since nothing else uses it? I'm really starting to wonder why doesn't every game company ever just switch to downloadable videogames. They could still sell redeemable codes in shops if they really wanted to keep that market alive. Even leaving PC apart, we all know that many PS3, and a vast majority of PSP games were released (some exclusively) like that. Would it be that troublesome to release all of them like that? I can only see the problem with games like, uh, MGS4 and FFXIII that are freaking huge. But if it's not read from a disc, you can probably cut corners here and there easily (and such huge games usually have installs anyway).

How to platinum Rorona:
1)Play and finish the game normally until you get tired of it, getting all the endings you really care about getting.
2)download save with all endings accessible from Gamefaqs.
3)view all other endings from that save.

That is, if you don't want to become mad from requirements, schedules, and random chance.

I got this the other day(with a 26% discount, since apparently other shops need to counter Gamestop's 25% discount on everything, whee), and I just started playing it.
Do you feel like discussing Alchemy and lesbian subtext like gentlemen?

Checked the first several pages and didn't see a thread for this, or AT or Gust in general.

I'm tempted to get Atelier Rorona's special edition purely because I love the music and art and owning the bonuses would be nice. However I'm wary about Gust games in general.

Atelier Iris was ok but the skipping nonsense and lack of a focus on item creation was annoying.
I figured Ar Tonelico would have fixed that, and it didn't.
I skipped AI2 and 3 and eventually tried AT2 hoping they fixed some of their issues from previous games and found they were not only just as bad but infact worse with the critical bug on that end game boss. Didn't really find the DS Gust games very good either although I did enjoy the larger focus on alchemy.

Clearly the PS3 game is using a new engine, one that looks quite nice but I'm wary of Gust just doing the same half-assed job with a prettier spit shine, so I ask is it worth it?


tl;dr most Gust games are bad, did they get better?
