You're entitled to your opinion; though I'd imagine it'd be far more difficult to clear stuff like Ironbottom Sound E-5 / Spring 2014 E-5 / AL/MI E-6 without sparkling. Sure, it's possible, but I really think you'll spend less resources (and therefore, less time) sparkling your fleet than not doing so. Sparkling doesn't guarantee that you'll see success with each sortie, but it'll make it more likely that you'll reach the boss node more safely.
