I've had this picture at my bedside for over a year now.

The thing of waifus is that there are infinitely many. Imagine all the people IRL you're mostly or heavily compatible with and then project idealism and lust on that.
So even when I think of a good package, it's not the end-all. A perfect waifu would be one that you shared experiences with at just the right time and decided to go for broke on.
That said, I'm a tanukifag and Mamizou has given form to the ideal.
Honest and inquisitive most of the time, with a relatively plain, brightly featured face.
And then she gets in a mood. Those glasses become sinister glowing panes of eerie light concealed in shadow, her smile morphs into a mischievous smirk, and the environment around her becomes swirling particulate uncertainty as she utilizes smoke and leaves.

Mamizou also frequently shows off an underutilized aspect of Tanuki: they're known for their transformation. So be it a statue, another character, or a different form of herself, Mamizou has the broadest array of appearances in Touhou.
