Yup. I think in the past people had more respect for the game. They heard all the stories about IBS and later AL/MI and they were very happy just clearing two or three maps, enjoying their progress, making training or farming goals for future. Nowadays there's more whining about ships not dropping immediately and the sense of challenge has waned dramatically. You don't see stuff like pic related anymore.

Just "hehe, I beat the whole event (on easy), thank you my girls (posts lv90+ Bismarck), that map X was soo hard it took me ten tries but I'm super salty because Tanaka didn't give me ship Y in 30 runs!"

Nope. It's not a pay2win game. Really.

Some items are event only for now, but they're not that super duper powerful. You can get by with items obtained by normal means (crafting, quest).
There're new ships available in events too. They usually get added into normal maps or construction after a few months.

You need patience, luck (important), a cool head and some dedication for this game.
