Finished Tsumihoroboshi. What a ride. I can see why this would be people's favorite. A very, VERY heartfelt message about talking to people about your problems before doing something drastic, albeit a really melodramatic ride to get to that message, which sort of lets it down for me. The fight with Rena on the school was stretching the suspension of disbelief to the point of tearing. Rena's been on the run for three days at this point, and she holds her own against the well rested Keiichi? AND wins the fight? It's cool and whatnot sure, but man that was some silly shit. And then there's the buildup over the last several chapters that Rena somehow is far more mature than any of her peers, far more intelligent, and she's been through some shit. What was that shit? A fucking divorce?? That's it? Shion/Mion have been through much, MUCH more comparatively it was such a boring revelation. I felt bad for Rena because I care about the character but what a total letdown. Going through your parent's divorce is no reason you should be able to vocally go toe to toe with a veteran detective, or all the other shit she's able to do in all the other chapters preceding this.

On Minagoroshi and to be desu it's immediately more engaging than Tsumihoroboshi is, but for some reason it's liked less? I'll see I suppose.
