Generally if you have a rule in English grammar or spelling that is simple enough to explain to people learning it as a foreign language, it's inaccurate enough that it will not work in all cases.

I don't know why you guys are complaining, the games have always had memes in them.

Trials and Tribulations had 'THIS IS SPARTA', case 3 in the first game had a character who spoke entirely in leet and there were way too many little internet references snuck in there.

But yeah, there have been references as blatant as this before and nobody complained.
