I agree, it may be a bit janky for today standards, but it captured the feel of mystery and magic of the visual novel. It was because of Fate 2006 that I got interest in Type-moon and found the mirror moon project and followed the translation of Tsukihime and Fate.

Deen is the studio that had the soundtrack and art direction that was most faithful to the original source, the soundtrack is specially good, I still listen to it. Also, the battle between Archer and Berserker was a well done addition to the story, it was memorable and one of the few times that the UBW was chanted in its entirety. I did not watch the community edited version, but now that we have that, I believe that it maybe a worthy watch for newcomers or people that will not read the fate route.
