I think it's the fact that you can't really get the same thrill out of re-reading the previous episodes.

There's really nothing at stake or risk because it's just Battler arguing with himself in the end. He wasn't "trapped" in a closed room, nor was he about to sign his soul away at the end of Episode 3. Oh wow, the biggest consequence is simply him not remembering!

Why should we care about all the tense sequences when in the end it's just very very mundane?
