Hello! I'm the anon that made the Okuu. She does have lantern sleeves, but it was very hard to make. What I did was first get an Aya fumo (from the base) and took off both the sleeves. Then I took off one of the sleeves and spread it out, taking off the seams which hold the 'gather' that holds together the puff of the sleeve. For the other sleeve, i took off some of the seams but not the gathered part as it would become a 'guideline' on how much you should gather the fabric. I copied the pattern of the sleeve (the one which I took off the seams for the gather) and by carefully handstitching, I gathered the fabric for the desired puffy look. Ive then sewn on the white 'band' that goes around the arms onto the gathered edge, and sewn the sleeves close. I hope I did an alright explanation on how to make a lantern sleeve!
