>Guys, what's Youmu appeal to the audience? Is it her kid samurai attitude? Her devotion to her master? Her personality? The fact that she's a filthy half-breed? Can you discuss it?

It's definitely her personality. She's one of the few major characters in the series that actually has notable character flaws compared to others. Youmu tends to be rather simple-minded, easily persuaded, and massively afraid of ghosts even though she's a half-breed. You don't really see that kind of "dorkishness" with Reimu, Marisa, Sakuya, Reisen, Aya, or Sanae. Cirno comes in second place for this, but she's more of a butt-monkey than anything.
