That reminds me. I’m surprised more monsters aren’t resentful that most men in MGE shun them by default. They see human guys as males of their own species. It must feel kind of fucked when your own men are brainwashed and want you to die. And there’s not much choice, if they want a husband. The only monster that seems to explore this theme are dragons.

To answer your question, monsters were just tools of the Chief God to cull the surplus human population and vice versa. Imo they are very much the same being, but monsters in general seem highly susceptible to divine influence. Killer instinct’s been replaced with breeder instinct. Whether you feel pity or can forgive ancient monsters is a matter of interpretation and opinion. How much was simply instinct? Can that ever be forgiven? Does it matter after thousands of years? People change so much in just under a hundred. Every modern day mamono is the result of monsterization or someone dicking an ancient monster way back in the day. Someone had to, willingly or not, to keep their species going. No human alive in MGE has room to complain compared to the humans from back then though.

Do not take dragons refusing to serve you their strongest drinks as a personal insult.
