kek that's true I guess but the Garden (GASO-, GAOR-) titles did an amazing job even for simulated sex and dildo blowjobs. Sure, there's definitely some of that unnatural/contrived feeling you talk about due to no male costar and chemistry entirely but it didn't take that much suspension of disbelief for me to enjoy it.

Now that I think about it, Shoko and Julia also had great pure pov titles where it's actual sex but not a sound from the dude. There's definitely ways to do it well, studios just don't seem to want to

What I expected:
* More cosplay titles about games and anime. It felt like we were getting a "Haruhi" parody every month back then but I guess they just cost too much to make and they're kind of boring because the actresses don't watch the anime/play the games to portray the characters faithfully which says a lot about the current states of these actresses.

* Better acting in general. when I saw Sora Aoi, Asami, Minami Aoyama, Risa, etc. get into Pink eiga I really thought it was going to set the standards higher.
Nope. I was wrong, and this is expected from girls who did not study in school and are just selling their looks. This is apparent when actresses do voiceovers in the beginning of the videos to set the plot, they're reading like Floyd Mayweather-level. They just don't care _how_ they look on the screen in non-sex parts

* I had a concern about higher vid quality in jav exposing the bad skin on the actresses. If you remember asian make-up back then, it focused on accentuating features with dark make-up, sharpening eyebrows, vivid lipsticks, defined eyes, etc. but nowadays we've actually gone the opposite way where Korean make-up is all about softening, hiding foreheads with bangs, wider eyes (with that temporary tape or surgeries) and lightening your skin-tone overall. Everyone just looks the same because make-up nowadays softens and hides features instead of accentuating.
