I see them as hating each other but simultaneously needing each other to retain sanity.

The only person who can understand the full weight of Eternity is Kaguya herself, after all. And Mokou would go insane with grief if she had become immortal for nothing and have no purpose for the rest of forever.

So an ill kind of "I hate you but I need you", except they don't acknowledge the latter on a conscious level.
