Detective Wanyan was mentioned in the Umineko event. So, I'd say it comes down to Kichi Kanou not really referencing the joke when he's doing the script.

Although I'm curious to see if it ever comes up outside of that. Although going through a bunch of separate text files seems like it'd take too long.
