Is Ryukishi07 a Christian?

He's wearing a cross in this picture, and he has various religious references in his works (human sins that can only be forgiven by a god in Higurashi, Bible quotes in Umineko, references to the virgin birth in Umi7, etc).

/jp/, I know you hate translation requests, but can you help me with this bit? It's a question from an interview with Ryukishi07, but I don't really get what they're saying here.

Q: ―その自信や責任感があるからこそ、しっかりとご自身を律しながら作品作
りを続けていくことができるのでしょうね。

A: そうですね。よく「どうしたら作家になれるんですか？」と聞かれるんです
けど、まずは当たり前の責任感を持って、自分の作品を完成させてほしい
なと思います。長い作品を書いていると飽きてきて、途中で次の作品を書
き始めてしまう……という人が多いんですが、それではダメ。ほら、企画だ
けぶち上げて途中で投げ出してしまう社会人っているでしょう？　でっか
い風呂敷を広げたはいいけど畳めない、みたいな。それじゃ誰も信用して
くれませんよね。小さな風呂敷でもいいから、広げたらきちんと畳むこと。
これが作家活動においても社会人生活においても大事だと思います。
