I'm looking for a live action series that I've watched on 2014 or 2013...

That was about an reseacher or professor which suddenly finds the reason for a series of murders that have been occurring...

He finds out that his live is in danger other people also, and then he was able to predict the date of his murder and other people as well..

It was a very clever guy who loved to play chess and other very distinct feature of this series was that his office drawer was like a portal to another time.

if someone knows the name of this series, please tell me I can't find it anywhere....
