>He described its supporters as "cyber-utopians" who mistakenly believe it, and its ilk, are forces for good because they are used in many places where political protests are harshly suppressed.

From http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-22754061 about Tor.

Things like this make me angry because they haven't even bothered to get information or interview Tor users, preferring to interview people that are going to read a script because it makes their company look good in the public eye.

The thing is, with this whole Google/Bing masking project they're doing, is that it's not a permanent solution; they themselves said in their interview that all it does is make CP much harder to find. Anyone who still wants to view or download it will go to the extra effort. As an analogy, it's like buying cheap, low quality headphones, then buying them again when they break, instead of buying a good quality pair once and once only. They're just procrastinating on a solution instead of pooling their resources because they're too hellbent on penny pinching in the short term and expressing their reluctance to work with other companies in a similar field to them (See Microsoft and Google).

>In July, Mr Cameron called on Google and Microsoft's Bing - which together account for 95% of search traffic - to do more to prevent people getting access to illegal images.

From the article you linked. This is once again a case of government(s) trying to control the internet as though it falls under their jurisdiction.

I don't seek out CP, but I don't particularly want to be thrown in jail among murderers and rapists because I search for something suspicious, or click on a spoilered CP image.

Do you want to live in a world where pic related gets you arrested?
