I like to think it's because it reinforces that the yu's are just fat blobs of manjuu that can talk that also have the mindset of human babies. And for some reason, when a yu poo-poos or pee-pees, it's much cuter than a regular being - since it's all just sugar water and bean paste.

And lick-lick is kind of what animals like to do, licking each other, with the exception of licking up piss and shit. But, I wouldn't too opposed to doing it myself if I had to take care of them
