Caliber issues aside, the mounts had serious issues that greatly hampered its ability to shoot down airplanes. First, all those levers and valves to rotate and elevate the thing, slow and unable to keep up with fast planes. Even while powered by electrical systems to move, they remained slow. Second, the ammunition loads were 15-round magazines, which required the gun to stop firing every time they had to be reloaded. Compare that to the BOFORs, which had a belt-fed system ensuring a continuing barrage. This also greatly reduced the supposed rate of fire into something abysmal. Finally, there were vibration issues when firing multiple mounts, which reduced accuracy and made it even worse.
Unironically, the 25mm Single Autocannon was the most successful variation because it did away with the awkward turning and elevation controls and simply required the user to aim manually like a normal emplaced machinegun, as well as removing the vibration issues due to lack of extra mounts. The magazine issue unfortunately remained though.
