I wouldn't know which substance works best - that's typically a very personal choice anyway - but as briefly mentioned earlier in the thread, dissociatives in general tend to be a favourite amongst /jp/sies.

I doubt he takes anything while making the actual animation, though he might come up with ideas, concepts and character designs (if you can call them that) whilst high. In fact, I'd be surprised if he didn't come up with ideas like that.
