A huge draw of the series is how open it is. How one man sees Gensokyo is very different from another. That's how things like doujins and Koishi's Heart Throbbing Adventure exist.

They're butt-frustrated that moot allowed /new/ to rematerialize, are afraid that more and more people are realizing the holocaust is a lie, and so they fabricated stories claiming that Anonymous hacked them and are using it to justify attacking 4chan. They've got the resources to sustain the attack indefinitely. I suspect that they're in the process of adding even more machines and bandwidth to ensure that no one can access 4chan servers, now that moot has taken steps to try to defend against the attack. They're also lobbying senators and congressmen in the US to try to get the domain seized by ICE, but that takes time. I'm not even making this shit up.
