I know, but I was talking more about the fact that the experimentation was always concentrated to just one particular moment; had it been throughout the series then it may have been more effective overall, although that could've result in lots of Xrosses only being used once or twice.

That's certainly the case. As much as he was good at finding out flaws in the opponent, he wasn't really that effective at using other Digimon ALONGSIDE certain versions of Shoutmon X to fit the purpose (of course with Spadamon running off twice then that pretty much killed the chance of X4S being a permanent choice). For example, why wasn't Lillymon allowed to do anything until the final battle when she had been there from the beginning?
