Sandworms are a type of horror, right?

I mean sure, it's not gore and dismembered limbs, but put your mind into someone that doesn't know about the MGE. Here you are, traveling through the desert. You've been told that there are man-eating beasts by the locals, but they give you some bullshit way to avoid it, but you're naive and believe their bullshit. So out you go, trekking into the desert. All goes well for a day or so. Then one day, you're feeling frequent earthquakes throughout the morning. As you stop for your break at high-noon, things go quiet. You set out again and the quakes continue, becoming more and more frequent. Eventually some colossal beast pops out of the ground from a distance in front of you. It starts to chase you. It looks like some horrifying, chitinous worm with gigantic teeth. You run and run, but it's no use, it's 50x faster than you. It dives deep into the sand, before popping out beneath you, sending you flying into the air. It takes you into it's mouth, and lights out, "this is it. I'm dead. Eaten by some beast" you think to yourself. You panic as you realize you're about to die a slow, painful death as you're digested alive.

Now of course, we know that's not what happens. Sandworms don't devour people like that. Their body is basically a mobile home and a love den. They've got hearts of gold and are very affectionate. Though they will playfully tease you by calling you pet names like "dinner" and "wormfood".

But to someone who doesn't know sandworms are absolutely horror. Just as terrifying as seeing the silhouette of an arachne in a dark forest, lurking behind the trees or finding a dormouse sleeping on your coach when you get home from work. The latter is a joke.
