She was something like 6 when Beatrice and Kai died, and the whole reason Beatrice went against Trifa in the first place was because she wanted to protect Kei's normal childhood instead of trainer her as another monster. Pretty sure the Kendo was Kasumi, and even then half decent kendo skills aren't that useful when you are in a deathbattle between magic supernazis.
