The last Touhou game Zun makes, "Touhou 24: Ragnarok of Ending Dream", will have a fatalistic, canon 'everyone dies' ending. The story will be an epic covering the last year of the Gensokyo wars, 20 years after the events of the last game.
In the very end Marisa manages to save Reimu's child by turning herself into a youkai, thereby consigning herself to fade away with the withering Gensokyo.
The credits will end with Zun's smiling face backgrounding the words "How do you like that character development?"
