News:
-Summer event ends on 9/2, 1100JST.
-The event consists of seven maps in total; four main event ones and three EO ones.
-Seven new ships added - Kawakaze, Hayasui, Mizuho, Umikaze, Libeccio, Kazagumo and Teruzuki.
-New plane experience system implemented.
-Shoukaku and Zuikaku will get kai 2 after the event.
-Killing minibosses at X,Y nodes in E-7 reduces the main boss's armor. Debuff resets at 2400JST.
-Cranes requires a special catapult item (blueprint style) to modernize into Kai Ni. Catapult is obtained by clearing E-6 on medium/hard.

I'm just making sure that you are not reading what KCV told you, since its quest translation is kind of buggy.

Assuming that you are doing the correct quest, try having the sub as flagship. Maybe it'll work.
I don't remember that particular quest to be hard.
