I once started making a railgun VN, but I gave up because I felt I would have to first read the novels or at least watch the Index anime to do it justice, and they're too awful to force myself through.

I think that making this sort of VN would be kind of nice for beginners, because it largely solves the problem of backgrounds and music. And partly sprites, though it still would need some work with vectors to make them look nice.
