If you really want PS3 sprites, go for it. But avoid any other "fancy" patches that might ruin your friend's immersion, like the one that tells you the name of a music track every time it changes.

Also, the scene where Ange jumps from the skyscaper was ruined by either a patch or Mangagamer's engine. I don't know which. The song that is supposed to play until the end of that scene is "forced" to play by itself during a credits screen, leaving the part where she jumps completely silent.

I'd say avoid all these potential problems and download the old release like we all did back in the day. Your friend can wait for a few more days if it will make the experience much better.
