Once upon a time not so long ago in a country not so far away (or perhaps on the other side of the globe) lived a man and a woman who fell in love, defied the protests of their parents and engaged in sexo in the back of his car to the tune of a romantic ballad. That is how I like to imagine the moment of conception. Nine months later, a baby boy was born. Little did the new parents know that their son would grow up during a sexual revolution: Japanese Adult Video began to spread throughout their country, past the seedy underbelly into the subsurface that may be called the tier of open secrets.

Allow me to jump past infatuations with gravure idols found in magazines rescued from the streets and other media that does not fall under the umbrella of Japanese Adult Video. It was likely in his final year of middle school or his first year of high school that the boy first encountered JAV.
