I came here in 2022 and I don't know most of the avatarfags but it seems like they are not lovable sort. so why do you attach importance to them so much?

No problem, anon. We all tend to forget bits and pieces of the story after not reading it for a while, and a good refresh always helps, whether it's through talking about it here or rereading the story. I'm glad I was able to help!

I've been reading too much sci-fi these days, I want to try something new, maybe finally start with the mystery genre. Any recommendations for a beginner? Please spare me the ten little niggers joke.

Why would anyone bully, humiliate, psychologically destroy and strip naked such a cute girl?

I get the appeal, but watching Ange succeed in her studies and be happy at school is a miracle of the universe.

[ERROR]

The other day we were discussing if Umineko works as a proper, fair mystery on an /a/ thread. Was it possible to solve the mystery in the first 4 question arcs going only by solid, careful deduction instead of wild speculation? I don’t think so. The problem is that everything is structured on top of an overreliance of unreliable narration and we don’t get the proper ruleset to work it out until ch.5. Yes, ch.3 makes us doubt of scenes with explicit magic in them as being unreliable, but turns out scenes without anything explicitly magical were also unreliable (Natsuhi talking with Kinzo in ch.1, conversations between the servants etc). Only in ch.5 we get introduced to the rule of only the detective of each chapter having a reliable POV. This isn’t something you could ‘’deduce’’ in the first 4 chapters. Umineko Chiru introduces new rules that forces us to recontextualize everything to get the proper answer. That’s fine for the story as a whole, but it’s somewhat inelegant for a mystery. Maybe Ryukishi thought handling all the proper rules in the question arcs would make things ‘’too obvious’’, but I think that’s better than frustrating the readers. One could say ‘’anything that is proposed in blue and isn’t denied in red is fair game’’. Sure, but that is mostly for Battler, not the reader. The reader can’t propose their own blue truths and have to rely on what the story has set up for them until that point. Umineko is a love story, not a mystery.

That she did.
>Last year, she was diagnosed with the initial stages of cancer, and after the surgery, her physical strength dropped sharply.
>Because of this, even in this stand-up awards party, she was given a chair and sat down while greeting people.
>Some people lamented, saying that if only she had been 20, even 10 years younger, ...she might have left her mark in history as one of the greatest authors in the 21st century.
It's probably part of the reason Tohya and Ikuko arranged that meeting, since she was going to die sometime soon. Enje's life is nothing but a long list of tragedies, honestly.
