Tutorial roll is fixed to one 4-star of the initial 9? girls, and two 3-stars. So reroll for who you like. Sitara, Rin, and Rei are pretty safe. For weapons:

>Bazooka is a short range bullet Sniper Rifle
>Dual Pistols can sometimes target two enemies
But you can equip whatever too until you get their motif gear.

The dailies reset rewards daily, 30 scout points for 5 multiplayer (just do the easiest one), and all dodge bonus from not getting hit in Investigations. So try doing that for single sortie nodes or all of them if you're some hot shot. Doesn't work in event investigations.
Slips from accessory gacha can be used to skip nodes and receive the rewards+shells. Using coins to skip gives no rewards.

I forget what newbies are supposed to do with shell excess. Just make sure you do 4 at a time and ship off crap like low rarity weapon shells. Eventually you'll be swimming in batteries, but it costs 1 batt to clear 10 minutes per bay.

And there's a beginner investigation map in events, you should do that to get an initial supply of anima, coins, and batts.

As a warning, there is no stamina except for shell analysis timers, and nearly everyone here got burned out playing too much grinding for motif shells. Which drop after clearing a node, so don't think you can check shell drops and restart forever. Motif shell drops are based on who you have in the party.
