Like in Sayrin, the scenario writer has a thing for making Bad Ends that look suspiciously like Great Ends but tries to convince us that they're Bad. Usually, they are very unconvincing. Take Sayrin: how is having a cute girl masterbate in front of you a "bad" end? The last "bad" end has you in charge and kicking ass -- how is that bad? Why does your chracter feel the need to die? Lol?

G-Senjou no Maou has the same problem. How is getting head by a cute tsundere following by sleeping with the most attractive girl in the game going to make you all crazy-emo, make people suicide and try and commit murder? Why can't this guy give you the option to bang a chick just because you're a guy and you like girls, and not because you need to humiliate and punish them? What is that?

And why no "bad" ends with Usami? And FUCK that plot twist, robbing me of a rape scene...

Play "Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo", or Sayrin for short. It was the last game by the same scenario writer who did G-Senjou. It's another emotionally powerful suspense/action human drama story. The main difference between G-Senjou and Sayrin is that there's little detective elements in the later.

The world of Sayrin is some kind of alternative history Japan that underwent some kind of civil war, and the Japan you play in deals with crime not with incarceration, but by a system of Obligations: like how the Nazis made Jews wear Stars of David, this Japan makes convicted criminals wear badges that represent the Obligation they have to fullfil -- for instance, a badge with the number 12 on it means that the person has only 12 hours in a day. A broken heart symbol means the criminal may not touch the opposite sex or fall in love. These Obligtions are designed to physchologically traumatize the criminals who, if they are comletely trampled down, can be "reborn" as productive members of society. And this society is damned harsh.

You play as a candidate in the final exam for becomming a Special High Class Person. These people are supposed to be superior human beings who are basically in charge of this justice system. Think of them like a cross between an internal state security officer and a social worker, and they hold a very high position in this society. But in reality they're totally fucked up, and your foster father (sound familiar?) is one of the biggest and baddest of this bunch -- just play the game to find out how evil these guys get -- with this mission to make you as fucked up as he is.

Faces aren't shown because we'd normally be embarassed by them.
