Glad I didn't have to reply to that mess because you did it for me. Though I don't know if Takeuchi is trying to be more cute with his artwork. If he is, he's failing miserably.

It was either late June or early July of 2012. I remember reading about it on 2ch and futab at the time, and people that saw the redesigns for the first time were especially confused by Ciel's new design -- they thought she was a new character!

I feel like this image sums it up better. I really cannot stand the YU-NO remake art, but I do like some parts of it. Like Mio's hair. Artwork aside, though, the worst part about the remake is how inferior the voice acting and direction is.

The are still a lot of visual novels which great artstyles, though. Takeuchi is just a really uninspired mediocrity when it comes to his artwork.
