After looking up that Evangelion game for WonderSwan, it seems it's one of those games where you care for a creature, like tamagotchi. You play as Kaji overseeing the growth of an angel.

It's kinda funny that Shikinami-edition Asuka plays on a WonderSwan, which, among its highly limited game collection, includes an Evangelion game with Kaji as the main character. It's not as unusual as it would be if the original Asuka did that though.

We're not having some elitist discussion about what's more 'mainstream.' We're discussing if casually playing Metroid is the same as having a fanatical obsession with Metroid.

If you speedrun Super Metroid or something that would make sense, but playing the game as any other person would doesn't make you a "metroid otaku."

I despise how everything was explained, explained again, explained again with a 'simplifying metaphor' [ur causality is like carrots turning into beets :^) does everyone understand what causality is now] in Muv-luv.

It's the same in every game that deals with any 'complex' mechanics, like the time travel in S;G. The writers make up loads of bullshit about how physics works to justify mechanics that were clearly designed with storytelling and not realism in mind, then they bruteforce explanation after explanation until even the most severely retarded player can understand it. There's absolutely NO subtlety and it caters to the lowest common denominator.
