I couldn't survive in Japan because Japan has very restrictive stimulant laws.

There's a lot of unpleasant things about the US, but the one nice thing about this country is that I can easily and legally get prescription amphetamines. These magic pills are the only thing that can get me out of bed in the morning and even if I could force myself out of bed then without these I would just stare at the computer screen and do nothing for hours. I wouldn't have been able to obsessively study Japanese every day for as long as I have if it wasn't for these. I can't do anything without these.

In Japan though, amphetamines are very illegal and you can't even enter the country with them if they were prescribed to you. My options are either live in Japan as a depressed lobotomized zombie or live in the US with a energized, focused, and happy mind and vicariously live in Japan by using Japanese entertainment, niconico, and futaba. I would spend most of my time on the internet even if I lived in Japan, so the most significant difference is that I have to deal with terrible shipping.

at least one good thread, what happened to /jp/ over the last year
half of the board is literally contaminated by new generals like shitcolle, about 3-4 different idol generals, anime game generals and some offsets of the usual VN general like the nukige general
why aren't these people creating these generals just use a proper forum for their shit instead of creating an exile-thread on /jp/
